Law of Attraction Affirmations – How to Use Them Effectively
Affirmations are often used in conjunction with the Law of Attraction to help you create and manifest your desires. But you must know that in order for these Law of Attraction affirmations to be effective, there are some conditions that first have to be met:

1. Your affirmation must be in the present tense.

The only moment that truly exists is now. When you think about past memories you do it now. When you think about what you will do next week-end, you do it now. And when that week-end will be here, it will still be now. So always create your affirmation in the present tense since you and the Law of Attraction only operates in the Now.

2. Avoid “wanting” your affirmation

Wanting anything means that you don’t already have it. If you want six-pack abs, it’s because you don’t have them already. If you want an extra $5000 this month, it means you don’t have it in this moment. As I just said, the Law of Attraction operates only in the now. So when you affirm that you want something, you are at the same time affirming that you don’t have it now. It is therefore pushing it further away from you.

Instead, create your affirmation in a way that you already have what you want. For example:

I have a perfectly healthy body
I meet my friends everyday
I make $5000 this month

3. Your affirmation must be positive

Avoid any negativity. Understand that your subconscious mind doesn’t make the difference between a positive or negative statement. It will always react to what you “feed” it. If I tell you don’t think about a green car with red tires…what did you just do? You thought about a green car with red tires because that’s where your attention was and that’s what you “fed” your subconscious with.

Here are some samples of inappropriate negative affirmations:

I don’t want to smoke anymore
I want to get rid of my acne
I banish the past and look forward to the future
I want to get rid of my debts
I’m not overweight anymore
Instead, your affirmation should be positive. If you don’t know how to word it, think about how you will be when you will have it. Here’s the opposite of the above affirmations:

I have a healthy body and lungs
I have a perfect looking skin
I focus on the present moment and make the most out of it
I have more money than I can handle
I weigh my ideal weight naturally
Even if these Law of Attraction affirmations are good, there is still way to add more power to them. But first…

4. Your affirmations must be believable

I often see people with incredible Law of Attraction affirmations that seem very thrilling, but at the same time very unrealistic. For an affirmation to be effective, you have to somewhat believe it. Otherwise, you will just be lying to yourself every time.

So for example, if you are 200 pounds overweight and you use the above affirmation “I weigh my ideal weight naturally”, you will not believe it and it will not have any positive effect on you. Instead your Law of Attraction affirmations could be something like:

I start living a healthy lifestyle
I exercise 3 times a week for 45 minutes
I eat at least 5 fruits and vegetables each day

5. Begin your affirmations with a choice

Here is a very simple trick to add a lot more effectiveness to your Law of Attraction affirmations. Modify your affirmations so that they begin either with “I choose” or “I allow myself”. This is in direct relation to #4 above. It will make your affirmations way more believable. It will also open your mind to new possibilities instead of staying stuck with your current beliefs. Just check to see if these affirmations sound better than the preceding 3 above:

I allow myself to start living a healthy lifestyle
I choose to exercise 3 times a week for 45 minutes
I allow myself to eat at least 5 fruits and vegetables each day
See how these feel a lot more natural and achievable!

6. Use your affirmations in a quiet state of mind

This is really the secret to multiplying the effectiveness of your Law of Attraction affirmations. For them to have the most impact, there should be no conflicting thoughts. Just imagine that you are in the middle of a busy day, you are stressed with an angry client on the phone and your affirmation is “I allow myself to see the good in everything”, it might have a small effect but nowhere near as if your mind and body were quiet and relaxed…

    I believe that waiting around for your affirmations to manifest can have a detrimental effect on the law of attraction technique. Believing that you already have it and then letting that feeling go can boost the law of attraction technique a thousand fold.

      I agree that you need to do more than just “affirm”, feeling that you have received what you are affirming about is MORE important than the affirmation itself. If you are merely saying the words–it can take time–sometimes quite a long time– to see a manifestation.

      I look at it this way–

      If I just say out loud– “I have 1 million dollars”, that’s a nice thought- a very nice thought, but it really doesn’t DO ANYTHING.

      But if I get excited and say–”Oh My God, I have 1 million dollars” and run around the house screaming (because that’s what I do when I FEEL excited) now I have made an impression and my feelings (which mean more than my words) are doing the work. Energy, or the flow of energy, are important.
